How to find The Tropic Of Ruisli

Please note that due to roadworks around Rickmansworth on the M25 the western stretch is usually a car park on a Friday evening and we suggest you avoid it.

Please note there is a large car park at the venue
but if it is full there is plenty of free, safe, street parking in the adjacent streets.

By Road:

From the M1: Follow Signs for Heathrow Airport on the M25. Come off at Junction 16 onto the A40, come off at The Polish War Memorial junction A4180 sign posted to Ruislip, continue on West End Road, and turn right into Grosvenor Vale after approx 1.5 miles, the ground is at the end of the road.

From the M25: Follow Take Junction 16 Off M25 onto A40. Then come off at The Polish War Memorial junction on to the A4180 sign-posted to Ruislip. Continue on this road named West End Road, and turn right into Grosvenor Vale after approx 1.5 miles, the ground is at the end of the road.

From the M4: Exit at junction 4B, take the M25 Towards Watford, come off at junction 16 and join A40. Leave at The Polish War Memorial junction A4180 sign posted to Ruislip. Continue on this road (named) West End Road, and turn right into Grosvenor Vale after approx 1.5 miles, the ground is at the end of the road.

From Heathrow Airport: Follow Signs to M4. Follow M4 Towards Reading. Take Junction 4B onto the M25 and come off at Junction 16 and join A40. Then come off at The Polish War Memorial junction on to the A4180 sign-posted to Ruislip. Continue on this road named West End Road, and turn right into Grosvenor Vale after approx 1.5 miles, the ground is at the end of the road.

By Rail: Chiltern Line trains stop at both West Ruislip and South Ruislip stations. From West Ruislip take the U1 bus. Last trains heading west are at around 00.30. See The Chiltern Railways Web Site . Specific instructions to get to West Ruislip

By Underground: From Ruislip Station (Metropolitan and Piccadilly Lines) turn left out of the railway station and walk up the stairs. Turn left again at the top of the stairs and go over the bridge and along what is West End Road, walk down approx 500 yards and turn (second left) into Grosvenor Vale. The club is at the end of the road.

From Ruislip Gardens Station (Central Line). Turn right into West End Road and keep going for approx 3/4 mile turn right into Grosvenor Vale, the ground is at the end of the road. Or take the E7 bus from opposite the station (so going under the bridge) and get off at Grosvenor Vale (ask driver to alert you).

By Bus. Bus routes 114, U1, H13, 331 and E7 all stop at Ruislip Bus Station which is by the underground station

Last local buses and trains for FRIDAYS (correct as at 11/08 and subject to change)
Check yourself with tfl and check with them for Sunday info.

TRAINS
Towards Uxbridge 1.24
Metropolitan Line towards London 0.43 (as far as Wembley Park) 0.08 to Baker Street.
Piccadilly Line towards Sudbury, Acton. 0.43 (change at Rayners Lane – runs as far as Acton Town)
Central Line towards Epping from Ruislip Gardens 23.56 (20 min walk to station first)

A good way to go to London late is to consider The Oxford Tube (it is a coach), it goes from Hillingdon Station (from outside the front of it London bound) and stops at Shepherd's Bush
Notting Hill Gate, Marble Arch, Victoria. They claim to run every 20 minutes through the night and the fare is £4.00 single. You can get a train from Ruislip to Hillingdon up to 1.24.

H13 towards Pinner, Northwood Hills 0.05
331 towards Northwood*, Harefield Denham 23.30 (Not recommended, leaves to early!)
E7 towards Ruislip Gardens, Yeading 00.47

Notes. The E7 can be caught from a stop at the top end of Grosvenor Vale, a distance of approximately 300 yards.

These are the exact time per the TFL web site, you are advised to arrive about 5 minutes early at your departure point. We cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions.

*For Northolt etc. take the 23.58 underground train to Eastcote and then the 00.13 bus number 282 from the stop just outside the station, or see the 140/night bus option below.

*For Northwood etc. take the 00.15 underground train to Eastcote and then the 00.30 bus number 282 from the bus stop on the opposite side of the road to the station.

If you get a 114 to South Harrow from there you can get a 140 bus towards Northolt Heathrow which runs all night, or continue on the 114 to Harrow Bus Station and you can get a N18 in to Central London. Alternatively you can get the E7 from the top of Grosvenor Vale to the "White Heart Roundabout" and from there the 140 towards Harrow or Heathrow.

You can get a room at Days Inn South Ruislip for about £70 twin with continental breakfast, perhaps as low as £52 if you book early - you can get an E7 there with a 5 min walk at the end. Last bus 00.47 from 200 yards from the venue.

(Correct as a 1.1.10) To get to West Ruislip you can get the 00.10, U1, bus from Ruislip Station to West Ruislip OR from the top of Grosvenor Vale the E7 at 23.52 towards Ealing Broadway, alighting at Ruislip Gardens Tube and then one stop on the 00.06 West Ruislip train. If you miss the bus at 23.52 there is still time to walk to Ruislip Station for the 00.10, U1
