Thank you for your advance booking for an upcoming gig at
Your booking however came in to us AFTER the
6pm cut off and as, in tests we have made, the bookings come in almost
instantaneously off the web site, we can only assume that your initial
submission was after 6pm (if it was well before 6pm please let us know!).
TRYING TO BOOK AFTER 6 PM CAUSES US SEVERAL PROBLEMS.
Firstly when you arrive your name is not on the list on the door, so we are immediately in a confrontation.
The bands often ask us for details of our door list in advance, if we are showing a pre-book of say 100 and then, say, allow in a pre-book of 105 they may ask "difficult" questions.
It holds up any queue behind you that might be waiting to come in, and if the people behind you have quite genuinely NOT booked and we, notwithstanding your name not appearing on the list, let you in at the discount price the people behind you may start asking "difficult" questions.
If we are sold out it can cause issues regarding fire regulations and numbers in the venue.
I do hope you enjoyed your
evening BUT PLEASE next time you book make it before 6pm ON THE DOT
(In practice you may be interested to know that the main booking form for a gig is actually put together at about 3 pm on the day of the gig and then any persons booking between then at 6 pm are added piecemeal up to the cut of time. I actually sit at my PC watching the clock go around to 6 pm from about five to six and THEN it is printed and I leave for the venue. This is why it really is 6 pm on the dot..)
